ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar has said that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has given us two years on a new seven-point action plan. "We are trying to implement the plan in twelve (12) months instead of 2 years," he said.

According to Hum News, Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar, who belongs to the Federal Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), while addressing a press conference, said that the new 7-point action plan given by FATF is related to anti-money laundering. He claimed that the current action plan is easier than the previous one so we will implement it soon.

Federal Minister Hamad Azhar said the new points were related to money laundering and terrorist financing. He said that earlier Pakistan was given the most difficult action plan but we implemented it. He said that the earlier action plan was related to counter-terrorism.

He said that FATF appreciated Pakistan's performance. He said there was no danger of a blacklist and the debate was to move from gray to the white list. He said that in order to get out of the gray list, it is necessary to implement other action plans.

PTI Federal Minister Hamad Azhar said that 26 out of 27 points have been implemented. "Here will be no limits on us being on the gray list," he said. He said that FATF President also appreciated the exemplary role of Pakistan.

Federal Minister Hamad Azhar said that he did not come out of the gray list but praised the role of Pakistan. He said that out of 82 points given in 2018, 75 have been implemented.
