Shahbaz Sharif's APC proposal is ridiculous: Fawad Chaudhry

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that Shahbaz Sharif's proposal for All Parties Conference (APC) is ridiculous.

In his statement, he said that Shahbaz Sharif was bypassing the parliament and opposition leaders were becoming part of the agenda to weaken the parliament.

He said that such decision making goes inside the parliament.

It may be recalled that PML-N has decided to convene an all-party conference on electoral reforms.

According to sources, the PML-N has started consultations on the all-party conference to be convened on the government election bill.

Representatives of all opposition parties and civil society will be invited to attend the All Parties Conference.

On the other hand, talking to media in Lahore, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that the government was playing with the constitution.

He said that bogus legislation was being passed in the National Assembly, the Election Commission should protect its powers, the government was unreliable.

He said that they could not stand on any agreement, the government has taken over the powers of the Election Commission to steal the elections.
