The 53rd birth anniversary of the Mother of the Nation Fatima Jinnah is being celebrated with devotion and respect today.

On this occasion, various governmental and non-governmental organizations have organized special programs on the services and role of Fatima Jinnah in the establishment of Pakistan.

Mother Nation Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah's 53rd birth anniversary is being celebrated today, Friday. Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was born on July 30, 1893 in Karachi. Ms. Fatima Jinnah played an important  role in the Tehreek-e-Pakistan.

Walking alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah played a decisive role till the independence movement and the establishment of Pakistan. She united the women of the subcontinent on one platform, which is why she was called the Mother of the Nation.

Fatima Jinnah fought General Ayub Khan for the sake of the nation and democracy in 1964 and was called Shama Democracy. By participating in the elections, she also taught the oppressed sections of the society and especially women a lesson to face the difficulties.

When the All India Muslim League was formed, Fatima Jinnah became a member of the Bombay Provincial Working Committee and continued to work in it till 1947. In March 1940, he also attended the Lahore meeting of the Muslim League.

Thanks to the efforts of Ms. Fatima Jinnah, the All India Muslim Students Federation was founded in February 1941 in Delhi. During the Partition of India and the transfer of power, Fatima Jinnah formed the Women's Relief Committee and it was this organization which later took the form of the All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA) which was founded by Rana Liaquat Ali Khan. After the establishment of Pakistan, he worked tirelessly for the resettlement of refugees. She later returned to politics and ran for president.

In 1965, he broke with tradition and challenged Ayub Khan and competed for the presidency of Pakistan. At his initial meetings, about two and a half million people came to Dhaka to catch a glimpse of him, and as far as Chittagong, millions of people lined up to greet him. Fatima Jinnah's train arrived 22 hours late because people would pull the emergency brakes and beg her to talk to them.

However, Fatima Jinnah died on July 9, 1967 at the age of 73 after a short illness. He was buried in Karachi.
